Emergency Kit for your Wedding Day – The Basic Essentials

There are a million variations of wedding emergency kit lists that you can find, and they all suggest mostly the same items as well as the extreme emergency list items that you could only need in a nuclear disaster.  I thought I would put together a basic list of useful items in general situations that you would need to access your emergency kit.

Emergency kits are fun and can be done ahead of time, packed in a handy bag, ready to go for the big day.  You could end up using a lot of the items, or never once opening it.  That is the beauty of the emergency kit!

Here are my suggestions:

  • First Aid Kit (band aids, gauze, antiseptic wipes)

  • Bobby Pins

  • Make Up for Touch-Ups

  • Clear Nail Polish (pantyhose run, or anything else! It’s a great emergency tool)

  • Hairspray

  • Hairbrush

  • Tissue

  • Perfume

  • Wedding Dress shoes and a casual pair for after

  • Needle, thread (white and color of bridesmaid dresses), and scissors

  • Contact solution/drops or glasses

  • Breath Mints

  • Tylenol

  • Deodorant / Antiperspirant

  • Toothbrush

  • Pantyhose/Nylons (at least 2 pair)

  • Phone numbers of all the important vendors.  It is good to have them available in case of emergency

  • Phone Numbers of all Important Family Members in the Wedding, Bridesmaids, Groomsmen

  • Any prescription medication the bride or groom is on

  • Extra money (just in case of emergency)

  • Your speech

  • 2 garters (1 to keep and 1 to toss)
