Good Morning on this fine Saturday. Since wedding season is in full swing, and brides are in high gear getting ready for their gorgeous weddings, I thought I would take the time to share with our brides something important.
What to AVOID before the wedding day.
Drastic hair cuts or colours: You want your guests to see you at your best, but not be a different person. Remember, your wedding photos will be with you for the rest of your life and looking different may not be what you want years down the road.
Getting Eyebrows Waxed Differently: Stick to what you know and the style that you have. Go to a trusted professional that knows you and knows what you like.
A big change in diet or a new workout: Slow progression of diet and exercise is great and healthy, but a drastic change can throw your balance off and be unhealthy. It can make you feel tired, weak, give you skin irritations… You want to glow on your wedding day and be healthy, so keep that in mind.
New skincare products or tanning solution: Don’t try anything new on your skin so close to your wedding! You don’t know how it will turn out or how your skin will be effected. Stay with what you know, and test out things ahead of time.
Peels & Microdermabrasion: Unless you have done these before and you know exactly how your skin reacts and you have used your skin specialist many, many times before… just avoid all together.
All-Nighters: I know you are temped because of all of the things that need to get done and all the stress surrounding it. But if you pull all-nighters, your body will be affected, you will be off-balance, your skin could break out, you won’t be yourself.
Rest-up! Stay balanced, stay healthy and wake up early. If you exhaust yourself you will regret it, trust me.
Excess Caffeine: Stick to what your body is used to, no more, no less. Stay balanced (see the pattern?).
Changing Up Your Makeup: Many reasons to avoid this! Your skin is not used to it, you may breakout. Your style is your signature, you want to look like YOU on your wedding day. If you wear more of a ‘natural beauty’ routine on a daily basis, and you walk down the aisle as if you were a high fashion model with black dark-smokey eyes… you may not retain the love of that makeup-look in your wedding photos for years to come. Stay you!
Overall the Most Important Tip: Don’t do anything you don’t normally do, right before your wedding. Simple as that.
Stay you! And enjoy the journey of planning your wedding. It will be over before you know if, so soak it all in, be positive and be yourself.
